Conical Bottom Silos

Conical Bottom Silos with storage capacity for bulk products

Metal silos with a conical bottom are designed for the storage of dry grains and industrial products, as well as products that require storage under special conditions, such as wet cereals (mainly rice and corn) when included in a pre-drying system.

The conical bottom with an inclination of 45º or 60º and with the outlet opening away from the ground, separates the stored mass from contact with the ground and humidity, optimizes the output of products whose density or humidity have worse fluidity, allows the interconnection between silos and a perfect discharge by gravity. They have a capacity between 10 and 2,500 tons per silo (p.s. 0.75 t/m³), up to 12 meters in diameter and 36 meters high.

Roof

• Ceiling made of smooth galvanized steel sheet with properly shaped polygonal sectors, with profiled margins acting as beams, providing great strength and watertightness

• Inclination at 30º

• They contain vents to evaporate moisture that accumulates through condensation

• Protective porch

Cylinder

• Cylinder made of corrugated galvanized steel sheet, with Z600 zinc coating (600 grams of zinc/m² — 42 μm, according to UNE-EN- 10346:2009) or optional pre-lacquered sheet

• Reinforced with galvanized laminated profiles, located outside

• Joining the entire structure using galvanized bolts, nuts and washers, neoprene washers and sealing gaskets, to prevent moisture from entering and ensure perfect watertightness

Conical Base

• Conical base made of smooth galvanized steel sheet using properly shaped polygonal sectors

• Reinforced union between the conical base and the cylinder
• Inclination at 45º or 60º

Feet

• The cylinder is supported on a structure of galvanized laminated profiles (reinforced structural body) in order to absorb the force produced by vertical loads.
